On Friday, June 6, 2025, Ottawa’s Hylands Golf Club welcomed an event as festive as it was philanthropic: the Dr. Bernard Leduc Annual Classic, presented by BMO Financial Group.
Organized in support of the Hôpital Montfort and under the honorary presidency of Teresa Pagnotta (Regional President, Personal Banking Quebec and Eastern Ontario, BMO), the day brought together nearly 200 golfers and raised the exceptional sum of $167,298, a record for this Montfort Foundation initiative
During the event, participants responded with enthusiasm and generosity, demonstrating once again that the health of our community is a collective priority.
The funds raised on this day are directly invested in improving the care and services offered at Hôpital Montfort, Ontario’s only French-language academic hospital.
This unwavering support enables us to respond even more effectively to patients’ needs, and to innovate in terms of community health.
The remarkable success of this year’s event would not have been possible without the involvement of Mr. Albert Lefebvre, a loyal donor to the Montfort Foundation and a true mobilizing force. Thanks to his commitment, this kind-hearted ambassador was able to rally several members of his network to the cause, further enhancing the impact of the event.
Additionally, a silent auction was held online throughout the month of May, right up to the event. Thanks to numerous items (such as gift baskets, sports and cultural outings, leisure accessories
and restaurant experiences, etc.) donated by our partners, many participants from the region and beyond were able to win their bids and get their hands on these tempting prizes and original gifts, supporting Montfort at the same time.
Thanks to their exploits on the course, several golfers won one of the many trophies awarded at the post-event ceremony and dinner, including the Longest tee shot Women/Men, as well as the Closest shot to the flag Women/Men.
The winning foursome was composed of the following: Danny Purcell, Normand Bisaillon, Dr. Guy Moreau and Sébastien Landry. Between them, they achieved the best score of the day
Beyond the sporting competition, this edition of the Classic proved to be a true celebration of solidarity. In a warm and festive spirit, everyone demonstrated that a community’s strength lies in its ability to come together to make a difference.
