Dr. Leduc has been practicing medicine for over 40 years. He joined Montfort as a family physician in 1999, in the midst of the S.O.S. Montfort crisis. In 2004, Dr. Leduc was the recipient of the Irwin Bean Award, given to the practice-eligible candidate with the highest score on the Certification Examination in Family Medicine of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He served as Chief of Staff from 2004 to 2009 and took over as CEO in January 2010. His leadership and vision have resulted in major accomplishments for Montfort, including recruiting staff to meet demand when the hospital doubled its service offerings after the construction of the “New Montfort” in 2010; achieving teaching hospital status in 2013; achieving the highest possible Accreditation Canada rating in 2014, 2018 and again in 2022; the creation of the Montfort Knowledge Institute; the realization of his vision of the Aline-Chrétien Health Hub in Orléans; and a place in Newsweek magazine’s Top 40 Research Hospitals and Top 1000 Hospitals in the World in 2019.

In keeping with this vision of improving and offering person-centered care, the profits generated during this Tribute to Dr. Leduc will be invested in a project that is close to his heart: a telemedicine platform allowing virtual access to mental health care for Francophone minority populations.
